Ruby and her two moms

Ruby and her two moms

Ruby sits in the kitchen playing while her moms work in the kitchen of their upstate home. We discussed doing the portrait in the kitchen and how that may be the cliche “women in the kitchen”. However, this is not a cliche family. Moms Julia and Lissa live and work from their Catskills home, maintaining [...]

Boy Scout Troup 1 of Unadilla

Boy Scout Troup 1 of Unadilla

Troup 1 is the oldest continually chartered Boy Scout troop in the nation. Last year, they celebrated their 100th anniversary in existence. As a part of this project, I sought out Troop 1 to create a portrait that incorporated much of the Troop and celebrated its unique distinction as well as being an example of [...]

Delaware County Fair 2011

Delaware County Fair 2011

Emma and Helen visit the MoMA
Emma and Helen visit the MoMA

Emma and her friend Helen visited the MoMA special exhibit “Talk to Me”. There were a bunch of pieces about the human and technology interaction. Very interesting. Most of the works had headphones and probably 20% or so had an interactive element the kids enjoyed. Most were just a video with sound. Fascinating to see [...]
